As a long-time Truefitt & Hill fan, I've become used to rotating several of their shaving creams throughout the year: Apsley in the winter, West Indian Limes in the summer, and Trafalgar or 1805 the rest of the year. Since Highgrove does not come in the smaller tube sizes, buying a large container without a sample was a bit of a risk. I knew the Trufitt & Hill quality would be good and ordered it sight-unseen. I'm glad I did!
The glass container looks and feels substantial. It's very different from the rest of the Truefitt plastic tubs. I'm sure the packaging upgrade is a significant part of the higher price. The product itself is also well worth the upgrade. The fragrance is masculine and sophisticated. Hints of it stay with you all day long. The combination of lather and glide is about as perfect as it gets: That part isn't noticeably different from any of the other Truefitt & Hill creams. But the overall experience of using it is one of indulgent luxury.
Highgrove is clearly Truefitt & Hill's most premium shaving cream. It's a great addition to their line of high-quality products. If you already like their other creams, this one is going to wow you. If you're thinking about buying Highgrove as your first Truefitt purchase as or as a gift, buy with confidence. You will not be disappointed.
